Mining News Pro - Iran, one of the largest billet exporter in MENA region has exported 1,790,224 MT billet and bloom during the first five months of current Persian year (21-Mar till 22-Aug’18). As per the data released by Iranian Customs, export of billet during the period was reportedly up by 42% Y-o-Y against 1,258,094 MT during the same period of last Persian year.

Iranian steel expands as capacity grows
Mining News Agency - Iranian steel industry, especially its raw material sector, is expanding substantially. The name of Iran is increasingly heard in the global steel market when it comes to semi finished steel products trade as growing steelmaking capacities in the country, together with weakening domestic demand, push export volumes up. In the first half of the current Iranian year (March 21 to Sept. 22, 2017) the country exported 3.2 million tons of semi-finished steel products, up by 77% compared with last year’s 1.8 million tonnes, Metal Bulletin reported.
